The veteran actor signs an album leaf
Signature: "John Beal", 5¼x4 album leaf. American actor John Beal (1909-1997) began his film career acting opposite of Katherine Hepburn in the RKO film The Little Minister (1939). Another notable screen appearance was Les Miserables (as Marius, 1935). During World War II he was an actor and director of the Army Air Forces camp shows and training films. He continued to work in films and television until the 1980's. Some of his other films include Madame X (1939), The Cat and the Canary (1939), Twelve Angry men (1954) and Amityville 3-D (1983). He played Charles Francis Adams in the PBS mini-series The Adams Chronicles (1976). Lightly toned around edges. Ink note (unknown hand) on top margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
