Collector's ink stamp on verso dates signature: June 18, 1935. American actor
John Beal (1909-1997) began his film career acting opposite of
Katherine Hepburn in the RKO film The Little Minister (1939). Another
notable screen appearance was in the 1935 film Les Miserables.
During World War II he served as actor and director of the Army Air Forces camp
shows and training films. He continued to work in films and television until the
1980's. Some of his other films include Madame X (1939), The Cat and
the Canary (1939), Twelve Angry men (1954) and Amityville 3-D
(1983). Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued
his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many
celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman
presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen.
Corners worn and creased. Lightly toned around edges. Otherwise, Fine
condition.
