Carpenter's film, The Fog, was released in 1980. Carpenter, who played
an uncredited role as Bennett in the film, was married to his first wife,
actress Adrienne Barbeau from 1979-1984. Multitalented director, producer,
actor, composer and writer John Howard Carpenter (born in 1948) began making
short films in 1962, and he won the Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short
Subject just eight years later (The Resurrection of Broncho Billy,
1970). Carpenter began directing features in 1962, with Revenge of the
Colossal Beasts, setting the tone for the horror and suspense movies that
would follow, including Halloween (1978), The Fog,
The Thing (1982), They Live (1988), Escape
from L.A. (1996) and Vampires (1998). Carpenter, who
formed a band, The Coupe de Villes, in the mid-1970s, has also
composed the scores for a number of films. Some of his music, such as
"Halloween Theme", has been heard in other films and on TV shows. An
occasional actor who appears in his own films under the name of Rip
Haight, Carpenter has been seen in features including The Fog and
Village of the Damned (1995) as well as his made-for-TV movie, Body
Bags (1993). Carpenter has been married to his second wife, script
supervisor and sometimes his co-producer, Sandy King, since 1990. Lightly
creased at corners. Minor surface creases (most not evident head on), some at
facial images. Fine condition.
