JOHN CARROLL and BILLY SNYDER
Caroll signs his name with love, with a rare note on the verso from business club owner and actor Billy Snyder to radio personality George Sanders
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Hello &/My Love/John Carroll" and on verso "Hiya George-/You're tops with/Melody and Rhyme/I'm trying to make it/go into parody like/the Melody Room-/Best Always/Pete & Billy Snyder" 1 page (front and verso), 7¾x10. With a 1¾x2½ black and white newspaper photograph of Carroll affixed (2 surfaces) and a 1¼x1¾ black and white newspaper photograph of Billy Snyder affixed on verso. "Marshall Robbins" merits further research. John Carroll (1906-1979) drove race cars and studied voice in Europe before becoming a Hollywood stunt man. By the mid-1930s, he had become a leading man in many low-budget action movies. In 1937, he was a singing Zorro in a Republic Pictures serial, Zorro Rides Again. His last starring role was in Decision at Sundown, playing the villain faced off against Randolph Scott. Pete and BILLY SNYDER (1905-1987) ran an establishment called The Melody Room in Los Angeles, California. Billy appeared in several television shows and films including Perry Mason (1958), Gang War (1958), The Fugitive (1967) and Mannix (1967). George R. Sanders, originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV interview host, first in Los Angeles and later in Portland. Lightly frayed at left edge. Lightly creased and toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
