John Challis (1942-2021) is an English actor who played Terrance Aubrey "Boycie" Boyce in the long-running BBC television comedy seriesOnly Fools and Horses, and its spin-off The Green Green Grass. He appeared on the Channel 4 mockumentary television programme Brass Eye, where he was tricked into believing Clive Anderson had been shot by Noel Edmonds. He played an interrogator on BBC radio in the play Rules of Asylum by James Follett, broadcast by BBC Radio 4 in 1973; From 2001 to 2004 Challis also played Dibben Purlew in Getting Nowhere Fast. He had several number of stage roles such as Peter Pan and Aladdin. In 2006 John took a cameo role in BBC's The Impressionists as Station Master Garre Saint Lezasr, and appeared in the Channel 4 documentary King Of Christmas Light, which aired on December 19, 2011, switching on the Christmas lights at Manning Close in Wells, Somerset, and also flicked the switch in Weston Super Mare. In 2013 he contributed to the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Live Tour as the narrator; he has written two volumes of autography, Being Boycie and Boycie & Beyond. In April 2012 he embarked on a book tour to promote Being Boycie, starting at Waterstones in Uxbridge, and the same year became the narrator of the National Geographic Channel seriesStrippers: Cars For Cash. In 2014 the actor began a theatre tour of his one-man show titled Only Fools and Boycie, which charted his life before, during and after his time as "Boycie". Botton right corner lightly creased.
