New York, N.Y., 1946 March 13. On letterhead of the William Morris
Agency. Conte agrees to perform on the Hildegarde - Raleigh radio program, to be
broadcast from New York on March 13, receiving $350 for his services. John Conte
(1915-2006) acted on TV, radio, Broadway and films. He founded an NBC-TV
affiliate (KMIR) in the Palm Springs-Rancho Mirage area, and ran it for over
thirty years (1968-1999). His films included The Carpetbaggers and The
Man with the Golden Arm. In the 1950s he hosted NBC's Matinee
Theater. Fine condition.
