Champion/1974-1977". The boxer's "Ring Record" is imprinted on verso. The record
lists a total of 39 bouts (34 wins, 24 by KO, four losses and one draw) from
October 1971-May 1980. British boxer John Conteh (born in 1951) was World
Light Heavyweight Champion from October 1974-1978, when he lost the title to
Yugoslavian Mate Parlov. After failing to win back the crown twice in 1979 and
again in 1980, he retired from boxing in 1980 with a record of 0. Lightly
creased at blank margins and corners. Minor smudges at lower margin near
imprinted caption. Minor surface creases (not evident head on). Fine condition.
