Inscribed Stage Bill signed: "To Mary,/From a good/friend your sister, Laura./Good Luck,/John Cullum", 5½x9. Program for El Capitan at the Ford's Theatre, Washington D.C., November 1973. Stage, screen and television actor John Cullum (born in 1930) is best known to television audiences for his portrayal of Holling Vincoeur on Northern Exposure (1990-1995). Although his television work also includes stints on two soaps, The Edge of Night (1966-1967) and One Life to Live (1969), and recurring roles on The Defenders (1963), ER (as David Greene, the father of Anthony Edwards' character, Dr. Mark Greene) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Cullum got his biggest accolades from his stage work. He won Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for Shenandoah (1975) and On the Twentieth Century (1978) and was nominated for Tonys in the same category for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1966) and Urinetown (2002). Married to actress, writer, director and producer Emily Frankel since 1959, Cullum is the father of actor John David "J.D." Cullum. 5½x9, 22 pages. Worn around edges and corners.
