Covering General George S. Patton in Italy, he was present at the time of the infamous "slapping incident". Daly would become a featured reporter on CBS Radio's You Are There program (1947-1950), before going on to serve as Vice President in charge of News, Special Events and Public Affairs at ABC Television, receiving three Peabody Awards during his tenure. Daly, who made his television debut as a panelist on The Eyes Have It (1948), would appear on several TV series as well as news programs, winning an Emmy Award in 1955 for Best News Reporter or Commentator (he was nominated for five additional Emmys) and a Golden Globe in 1962 for Best TV Star - Male. Daly also appeared as himself in two feature films, Bye Bye Birdie (1963) and Muhammad Ali, the Greatest (1969). Lightly creased at blank margins and corners. Surface creased, some at facial image.
