Handwritten letter from the British artist, hoping to apply for an exhibitor's circular even those he has only contributed to one exhibition
Autograph letter signed: "J E Soden", in black ink, 1 page, 4½x7¼. May 30. In full: "Sir Having only contributed to your first Exhibition I am not aware whether I have the right to apply for one of you circulars, but if so [illegible] feel forward by one. I am Sir Yours truly". John Edward Sodden (1836-1897) was a British painter, primarily working with oils on canvas. He tended to paint romantic styled scenes of English culture. Multiple folds. Left edge frayed and torn. Corners lightly worn and creased. Slightly soiled. Light surface creases. Ink notes (unknown hand). Otherwise, fine condition.
