He inscribed and signed for himself and his wife Ada in 1914.

[illegible]",4¾x2¼. British author John Galsworthy
(1867-1933) was awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize in Literature for his novels
(which include The Forsyte Saga trilogy), plays and short stories.
He was an advocate of reforms, including women's rights, animal rights, and
prison conditions, and was the first President of the International PEN writers'
organization. Galsworthy began an affair with Ada Nemesis Galsworthy, the
wife of a cousin, in 1895. The couple lived together clandestinely until her
divorce in 1905, and were then married until his death. Ada was the model for
unhappily married Irene in The Forsyte Saga. Irregular edges. Faint
