8½x11¼. His signed poem "Boy and Girl". Poet, editor and scholar John
Hall Wheelock (1886-1978) published a number of volumes of poetry,
including the award-winning Collected Works (1936) and Poems Old and
New. The editor of "Harvard Monthly" while a student at the university,
Wheelock became Senior Editor at Charles Scribner and Sons in 1947. He
not only worked with such notable authors as Thomas Wolfe and Truslow
Adams, but Wheelock also published a number of his own works, including
books on Wolfe and Maxwell E. Perkins. He is the winner of Borestone Mountain
Poetry Award (1957), Bollingen Prize (1962) and the Signet Society
Medal, Harvard University (1965) among many others. Normal mailing folds.
