British actor John Hurt (1940-2017) trained for the stage but made both his stage and film debut in 1962 (The Wild and the Willing). He was nominated for two Academy Awards during his long career, for The Elephant Man (1980) and Midnight Express (1978). His other film credits include Alien (1979), Heaven's Gate (1980), Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), Vincent (1987), Hellboy (2004), and V for Vendetta (2005). In 2004, Hurt was awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to drama. Minor surface creases (not evident head on), 1 at the "oh" of John. Ink smudges at upper left blank margin. Fine condition.
