Reference is made to my previous interest in the funding of the Extended All Day
Early Childhood Center at Public School #9, School District #13, in Brooklyn,
New York. As you know, this pilot project to assist minority group children in
overcoming the past effects of educational urban minority group isolation was
approved for the 1973-74 school year. (A copy of your letter addressed to me on
July 25, 1973 is enclosed for your information.) This has proved to be quite a
successful program, and re-funding for 1974-1975 has been requested. Enclosed
herewith is copy of a letter I have received from Mr. Luther Black, Chairman of
the Executive Board of the Extended All Day Early Childhood Center, and Iwill
very much appreciate anything you may consistently do to facilitate favorable
action in the matter. With kindest regards, Sincerely". American politician
