In full: "Thank you for sending me the comments of Chairman Needham's announcement concerning the approval by the Board of Directors of the New York Stock Exchange of the changes which permit financial institutions to have access to membership on the Exchange. With best wishes, I am Sincerely". John Sparkman (1899-1985) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from Alabama from 1946-1979. Previously a U. S. Representative from Alabama (1937-1946), he was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for Vice President with Adlai E. Stevenson in 1952. Stevenson-Sparkman lost to Eisenhower-Nixon 442-89 electoral votes, 39-nine states. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Light show through of receipt stamp on verso. Fine condition.
