On letterhead of The Department of the Treasury, Fiscal Assistant Secretary to
Mr. Danny Franklin, Phoenix, Arizona. In full: "Thank you for your
nice letter of November 9. I am pleased to enclose the autographed photograph
that you asked for. Sincerely yours". Enclosure not present. The Fiscal
Assistant Secretary is the senior advisor on all matters relating to the
development of policies, programs and systems regarding the collection,
disbursement, management and security of public monies in the U.S. and foreign
countries. As Fiscal Assistant Secretary, Carlock was head of the Fiscal
Service, which includes the office of the Fiscal Secretary, the Financial
Management Service and the Bureau of the Public Debt. We have found references
to Carlock serving in this capacity in 1972 and 1973 and well as 1974. Worthy of
further research. Lightly creased. Fine condition.
