JOHN KEBLE BELL ("KEBLE HOWARD")
The popular author cites the title of a novel adapted for film three times.
Autograph Quotation signed: "faithfully yours/Keble Howard/'All the Brothers Were Valiant'", 3¾x2¾ card. John Keble Bell (1875-1928), wrote popular novels under the pen name Keble Howard. Many of his books were borderline SF/fantasy, like The Peculiar Major (1919), about a British officer who employs invisibility to perform military feats in World War I. At least five of Bell's stories, beginning with The God in the Garden (1921) were adapted for film. The Brothers Were Valiant was a novel by Ben Ames Wilson (1919), which was made filmed three times. Bell's association with this work is unclear, but he may have worked on the 1923 film adaptation, which has since been lost. Slightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
