JOHN KENNETH GALBRAITH. Pamphlet signed: "John Kenneth Galbraith" on the cover, 12p, 5½x8½.Washington, D.C., 1972 January 2. Transcript of NBC TV's Meet the Press, on which Galbraith appeared as a guest. Galbraith (1908-2006), a Canadian-born American economist, was Editor of "Fortune" magazine from 1943-1948. In 1958, he gained attention with his book, The Affluent Society, the first of many volumes that challenged orthodox assumptions of modern economics. A Professor of Economics at Harvard and Princeton Universities, Galbraith served on a number of government committees, including The U.S. Office of Price Administration and the Office of Economic Security (Director, 1946), and was Ambassador to India from 1961-1963. Slightly creased. Lightly soiled on back cover. Fine condition.
