Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on). Overall, fine condition. Accompanied by typed biography, unsigned, 1½p, front and verso. The biography, which was "(Current as of August 15, 1973)", was distributed by the Secretary of the Air Force, Office of Information, Command Services Unit, Bolling AFB, D.C. Lightly creased. Three file holes at blank left margin, three file nicks at blank right edge. Minor show through of type on verso. Doctor John L. Mc Lucas (born in 1920) became Secretary of the Air Force on July 19, 1973, after serving as Acting Secretary since May 15, 1973 and Under Secretary since March 1969. He had previously been President and CEO of MITRE Corporation of Bedford, Massachusetts and McLean, Virginia. A graduate of Davidson College, Mc Lucas received his Master of Science degree from Tulane University and his Doctorate in physics from Pennsylvania State University. During WWII, he had been an officer in the U.S. Navy (1943-1946). The author numerous scientific articles, McLucas held ten U.S. patents at the time this biography was written. Two items.
