In 1979, Landis appeared as Corporal Mizerany in the Steven Spielberg film, 1941, and he voiced Grover in The Muppet Movie. Never a favorite of the critics, movie director John Landis (born in 1950) has produced many blockbuster comedy hits, including Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Trading Places and Coming to America. He also directed Michael Jackson's Thriller (1983) and offered an unusual blend of comedy and horror in An American Werewolf in London (1981). Landis is known for his trademark phrase, "See you next Wednesday" (from Stanley Kubrick's film, 2001: A Space Odyssey), which he includes in films in which his characters are in great danger. Slightly creased. Light show through of stamp and writing (unknown hand) on verso at "John" and the "L" of Landis. Stamped at mid-left portion. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at lower right margin. Total amount circled in red, "528" written in red pencil (unknown hand) above typed amount. Fine condition.
