JOHN Le CARRÉ
He inscribes and signs this copy of his book A Murder of Quality
Book inscribed and signed: "and for Tony/with all good wishes/from/John leCarré/10th May 1983 London" on dedication page, 156p, 4¼x7, paperback. His novel, A Murder of Quality, Penguin Books Ltd., Harmondsworth, England: 1982 reprint of 1964 edition (first published 1962). LeCarre's second novel, A Murder of Quality, adapted for television in 1991, already featured George Smiley, the hero of his later celebrated Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy series. English novelist Le Carré is noted for his bleak, intricately plotted tales of espionage. Among his best known works are The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1963) and the trilogy which began with Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (1974). Although it is difficult to do justice to his complex stories in a 2-hour film, many of his novels have been turned into movies, including the above and also The Little Drummer Girl (1984), The Russia House (1990) and The Tailor of Panama (2001). Front cover slightly creased and soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
