Check signed: "John McGiver" in blue ink, 8½x3½. December 2, 1970. Check no. 04285 drawn on the business account of John and Ruth S. McGiver at City National Bank in Beverly Hills, California. Payable for $8.22 to Wohl's Department Store. Character actor John McGiver (1913-1975) had major roles in films such as Love in the Afternoon (1957), The Gazebo (1959), The Glass Bottom Boat (1966), and Midnight Cowboy (1969). He appeared often on TV, his versatility demonstrated by two appearances each on Gilligan's Island (1964-1967) and The Twilight Zone (1959-1964). McGiver also made the first of the "Do You Know Me?" TV commercials for American Express. Ink bank stamps on front and verso, with light show-through to front of the stamps on verso. One very faint vertical crease touches the "o" of "John". Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
