TOM CLARK served as Attorney General under Truman (1945-1949), who appointed him to the Supreme Court in 1949. KATZENBACH (1964-1967) and CLARK served under LBJ. Nixon's Attorneys-General were MITCHELL (1969-1972), KLEINDIENST (1972-1973), RICHARDSON (1973) and SAXBE (1974). Saxbe also served under Ford (1974-1975) and was succeeded by LEVI (1975-1977).
