JOHN NEWBOLD "HAPPY" CAMP
The three term Congressman who represented Oklahoma's 6th District signed this card in black ink
Signature: "Happy Camp" in black ink on a 3½x2 card. John Newbold "Happy" Camp (1908-1987) was a United States Congressman who served the 6th District of Oklahoma from 1969-1975, defeated for reelection to a fourth term in the aftermath of the Watergate scandal, which resulted in election losses for dozens of Republicans across the country. He was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1943-1963. Nicknamed "Happy" by his father as a child, Camp legally changed his name to include Happy so it would appear on election ballots. Fine condition.
