TLS: "John P. Marquand," 11/2p, 81/2x11, separate sheets. New York, 1957 July 16. To
National Broadcasting Company, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York. In part: "I understand
that you are desirous of broadcasting by television my original work entitled haven's end. As
owner of the television and sound radio broadcasting rights in such original work entitled
the haven's end, I hereby License you...and you accept such license and agree to pay me a
royalty of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for the use of said work...." Marquand was
the author of several detective novels around the character Mr. Moto. He was awarded
the 1938 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction for The Late George Apley.Staple holes in upper left
corner. Fine condition.
