Canadian pro hockey player. McKenzie, nicknamed "Pieface" and then "Pie" for teenage acne
that lasted into his twenties, started playing hockey in 1953 for the Calgary Buffaloes and
entered National Hockey League in 1958 with the Chicago Black Hawks. He joined the
Boston Bruins, the team he's most associated with, in 1965. and skated for them for seven
seasons. McKenzie is a two-time All-Star and has placed in the NHL top 10 for seasonal
points and thrice for power play points for and game, and he was on two Stanley
Cup-winning Bruins rosters in 1970 and 1972. He has a total of 206 goals, 54 of them off
power plays, and 268 assists in 691 games in the NHL regular season, as well as 15 playoff
goals and 32 playoff assists. GERRY CHEEVERS a former professional hockey goaltender.
One of the first aggressive goalies, who would leave the crease to play "third defenseman", he
got his professional start in 1956, at age 16, with St. Michael's Majors in the Ontario Hockey
Association. Evne before joining the NHL, Cheevers proved himself an effectve goalie. He still
holds the American Hockey League single-season record for most victories by a
goalkeeper and tallied 48 victories in 1964-1965, helping the Rochester Americans to their
first Calder Cup championship. Cheevers is most associated with the Boston Bruins, whom he
joined in 1965-1966 and was a member of, off and on, until 1979-1980. He was a member
of their 1970 and 1972 Stanley Cup-winning rosters and set a record in 1971-1972 with
33 consecutive wins. Cheevers was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985. Fine
