"I am glad indeed if one of my books has given you pleasure, as it shows I
have to that extent at least-made this world a little happier and thus in part
paid my price for living in it. Sincerely yours." John Preston True
(1859-1933) wrote adventure novels, most with a military bent. These include
a three volume series set in the Revolutionary War, beginning with
Scouting for Washington; a story of the days of Sumter and
Tarleton (Little Brown & Company, 1900) and the popular fable
The Iron Star and What it Saw on its Journey through the Ages from Myth to
History (Little Brown & Company, 1905). Normal mailing folds. Toned.
