Alice Faye (1915-1998) was a chorus girl who rose to movie stardom in such films as In Old Chicago (1938), Rose of Washington Square (1939) and Tin Pan Alley (1940). She retired from regular film work after quarreling with producer Daryl Zanuck during filming of Fallen Angel (1945). She also co-starred with husband Phil Harris in a popular and long-running radio comedy show with musical interludes (1948-1964). Semi-retired thereafter, Faye remained popular on TV and in nightclub appearances. As a spokesperson for Pfizer chemicals in later years, Faye promoted an active senior lifestyle. While in college in the 1930s, JOHN RAITT began drawing portraits of famous people. He sent his artwork to each subject with a request that it be autographed and returned to him. Two horizontal folds. Lightly creased. Lightly surface damage at corners. Bottom left corner clipped. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
