The works of the American playwright include Saturday's Children (1927), Elizabeth the Queen (1930), Mary of Scotland (1933) and Winterset, a poetic tragedy set in contemporary America, for which he won the very first New York Drama Critics Circle Award (1935). While in college in the 1930s, JOHN RAITT began drawing portraits of famous people. He sent his artwork to each subject with a request that it be autographed and returned to him. Two horizontal folds. Tape at corners. Irregularly cut at left edge.  Otherwise, fine condition.
