JOHN RAITT and RICKY SKAGGS
Original portrait of Skaggs, drawn by John Raitt, signed by both!
Original Art signed: "Ricky Skaggs", 5½x8½. Pencil drawing also signed by the artist "Raitt".  Country and bluegrass performer Ricky Skaggs (born in 1954) has earned ten Grammy Awards and seven Country Music Awards for his recordings, which include the No. 1 singles "Crying My Heart Out Over You", "I Don't Care", "Heartbroke" "I Wouldn't Change You if I Could" and "Highway 40 Blues". The multitalented singer, musician (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo), composer and producer had 12 No. 1 hits and six Top 10 singles in the 1980s alone. Skaggs, who made an appearance on TV with Flatt & Scruggs at age seven, became a member of the Clinch Mountain Boys, Ralph Stanley's bluegrass band, at age 15. He later performed with The Country Gentlemen, J.D. Crowe & the New South and the Emmy Lou Harris Hot Band before having his first big success with his solo album, Waitin' For the Sun to Shine (1980), which included two No. 1 country hits and four successful singles. Two years later, in 1982, Skaggs became the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. He continues to tour and record, releasing his recent albums on his own Skaggs Family label. While in college in the 1930s, JOHN RAITT began drawing portraits of famous people. He sent his artwork to each subject with a request that it be autographed and returned to him. Two horizontal folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
