The actor signed this Screen Actors Guild contract in 1971 with his birth name "John S. Young" in order to appear in Steelyard Blues, one of his first movies.
Contract signed "John Savage/A. K. A. John S. Young". 1 page, 8¼x13¾, carbon copy. May 12, 1971. Titled: "Screen Actors Guild, Inc. Minimum Free Lance Contract". Savage signed this contract with  Steelyard Blues Productions, Inc. in order to appear as the Kid in Steelyard Blues (1973). He was to be paid the princely sum of $650 a week for at least seven weeks. John Savage, born in Old Bethpage, Long Island, New York in 1949, has racked up hundreds of credits on films and television shows mostly as an actor, but a few in various other capacities. Savage's earliest credit is in 1969's The Master Beater, but his glory years are in the late 1970s, with starring roles in acclaimed films like The Deer Hunter (1978), Hair (1979), and Inside Moves (1980). Television appearances include recurring roles on Gibbsville (1976-1977), Dark Angel (2000-2001) and Carnivàle (2003-2005). Trekkies may recognize Savage from his role as Capt. Rudy Ransom in the two-part Star Trek: Voyager series Equinox (1999).He reprised his role in the television movie Star Trek Equinox: The Night of Time. Lightly toned and creased. Wax remnants from pad binding at top. Staple holes in both left corners. Carbon copy marks. Folding creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
