John Scott (1824-1896), born in Alexandria, Pennsylvania, was a member of
the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in 1862 before being
elected a Republican Senator from Pennsylvania (1869-1875). He was also a
lawyer with an office in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania until moving to Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, where he was general counsel of the Pennsylvania Railroad
(1875-1877) and general solicitor (1877-1895). Lightly toned, foxed and creased.
Discolored along right and bottom edges. Neatly torn from album at left edge.
