A printed card showing Sebastian from the 1969 Woodstock Festival, signed in black ink
Printed card signed in ink: "John/Sebastian", in black ink, 5x3. Musician John Sebastian (b. 1944) is best known as the founder of the 1960's rock band the Lovin' Spoonful. The band released a number of hits in their short rise and fall from fame, namely "Summer in the City", "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind?", and "Do You Believe in Magic?". However, following a marijuana bust in 1967 that caused the loss of one band member and Sebastian's own departure, the band soon split up. Sebastian went on to a successful solo career, performing backup guitar and harmonica for several prominent bands and musicians, and composing music for a number of television series and films including Welcome Back, Kotter (1977), The Devil and Daniel Mouse (1978), The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987). Sebastian continues to perform today, and makes public appearances to speak about his current and past career. Fine condition.
