was a British author and biographer, particularly known for his biographies on
George Bernard Shaw (Shaw, 1925), August Strindberg (Marriage and Genius,
1963) and Leo Tolstoy (Leo Tolstoy, 1969). His most famous work
remains The Worm Forgives the Plow (1973) which includes his two books
While Following the Plough (1946) and Down to Earth (1947).
Originally born to Irish parents in Dublin, he is brothers of biographer and
writer, Maurice Collis and doctor Robert Collis who is his twin brother. Lightly
bowed.Fine condition.
