John Thomas Dunlop (1914-2003) was an American labor economist, scholar and United States Administrator who served as the U.S. Secretary of Labor between 1975 and 1976 under President Gerald Ford. He also served as Director of the U.S. Cost of Living Council (1973-1974), Chairman of the U.S. Commission on the Future of Worker/Management Relations (1993-1995) and arbitrator and impartial chairman of various U.S. Labor committees. There he was Chairman of the Economics Department (1961-1966) and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (1969-1973). Recognized as the most influential figure in the field of Industrial Relations of the postwar era, Dunlop served as an advisor in every U.S. Presidential Administration from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Bill Clinton. Dunlop, who regarded himself a problem solver, is the author of several books, including Dispute Resolution, Negotiation and Consensus Building (1984). George R. Sanders, originally a disc jockey, became a prominent radio/TV interview host, first in Los Angeles and later in Portland. Corners slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
