Autograph Sentiment signed: "Feb.28.1902/Yours,/John W. Albaugh",
4½x2. John W. Albaugh (1837-1909) was performing Shakespeare by age
16, and would become known as the best "Iago" in America. He also
managed theatres in St Louis, New Orleans, Albany and Baltimore. He built
theatres as well, including Albaugh's Opera House in Washington, D.C, and
owned Baltimore's Lyceum Theatre. He married actress Mary Mitchell in
1866, and they often performed on stage together. Albaugh retired from the
stage in 1899. Lightly creased. Slightly frayed at left and bottom edge.
