The host of NBC's Tonight Show inscribes a black and white
photograph of him to FBI Special Agent in Charge Ted Gunderson.

B/w 8x10. In 1952, Johnny Carson (1925-2005) made one of his earliest
national appearances on The Jack Benny Program. In 1954, while serving as one of the writers on The
Red Skelton Show, Carson appeared on the show when Skelton had a minor
accident during rehearsal. From May 23, 1954 to September 5, 1954, 27-year old
Carson hosted a prime-time game show on CBS called Earn Your Vacation and
appeared briefly in the winter of early 1955 on the CBS Morning Show,
filling in for the vacationing Jack Paar. From 1955-1956, he hosted two CBS
variety shows, first on Thursday nights then on daytime, each called The
Johnny Carson Show. After hosting the game show Who Do You Trust
(1957-1962) where he first teamed up with announcer Ed McMahon,Carson took over
NBC's Tonight Show, pioneered by Steve Allen (1954-1957) and Jack Parr
(1957-1962). Carson became a major national celebrity with his celebrity guests
and timely comic monologs. He won 6 Emmys and many other awards, including
the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1992) and the Kennedy Center Lifetime
Achievement Award (1993). His farewell show in 1992
was a national event. The inscription is to Ted Gunderson (1928-2011), former
Special Agent in Charge of the Memphis, Dallas and Los Angeles offices of the
FBI After his retirement from the Bureau, Gunderson founded his own
investigative service, and proposed highly controversial conspiracy
theories regarding the JFK assassination, 9/11, Waco, the Oklahoma City
bombing, CIA "mind control" projects, Satanism, and the poisoning of America by
