Titled: "Your Album of Favorite/Country and Western/Music Stars". Published by the Harry Peebles Agency of Wichita, Kansas. JOHNNY CASH (1932-2003, born John R. Cash in Kingsland, Arkansas) had big country/pop crossover hits in the 1950s, including I Walk the Line (1956) and Ballad of a Teenage Queen (1958). After recovering from amphetamine abuse problems with the help of his wife June Carter Cash, he bounced back with hits including Ring of Fire (1963), Folsom Prison Blues, (1969) and A Boy Named Sue (1970). Cash also had a TV show (1969-1971), appeared in several films and earned ten Grammy awards between 1967 and 2000. In 1980, he became the youngest ever inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame. As a child, JUNE CARTER CASH (1929-2003, born Valerie June Carter in Maces Springs, Virginia) was part of the Carter Family music group, regulars at the Grand Ole Opry. She met country music superstar Johnny Cash in 1961, accepting his on-stage marriage proposal in 1968. An accomplished songwriter, she penned several of Johnny Cash's biggest hits, including Jackson, Ring of Fire and If I Were a Carpenter. June won her third Grammy Award for her solo album Press On in 1999. Her husband outlived her by less than four months. Their love story was the subject of a 2005 biopic, Walk the Line.
