In letter form from The ABC 25th Anniversary Special, Hollywood, California to Crawford, c/o the Jeanne Halliburton Agency, regarding payment for the use of clips from his appearance on The Rifleman on the program. In part: "Thank you for consenting to our usage in the above special of one or more brief clips containing your television appearance in 'Rifleman.' Such usage may be publicized in the customary manner, which would include the right to utilize your name and likeness. For each clip actually included in the program, you will be paid our established fee of $225. This payment would entitle us to one run in the U.S. and Canada - presently scheduled for February, 1978 - with the understanding that in the event of a rerun, you would be paid an additional $225...." Also signed: "Marilyn Sharon" as Clearance Administrator. Johnny Crawford (1946-2021), a former Mouseketeer (1955), is best known for his role of Mark McCain, the son of Chuck Connors, who played Lucas McCain, on the popular TV western, The Rifleman, which ran from 1958-1963. He has also appeared in more than 20 feature films and made-for-TV movies, including The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw (1991), in which he reprised his role as Mark McCain. Crawford, who had a hit song, "Cindy's Birthday" in 1962, occasionally guest starred on TV through the 1980s, appearing in Our Time (1985), Murder, She Wrote (1985) and two episodes of Paradise (1989, 1990). Lightly stained at upper right blank margin. Staple holes and 2 file holes at upper blank margin. Fine condition.
