4x6. Johnny Grant (1923-2008) was an American radio personality,
television producer and, at Hollywood community functions like the unveiling of
new starts on the Walk of Fame, the honorary mayor of Hollywood. He was
also the producer of the Hollywood Christmas Parade since 1978. He
started out as a radio personality in his hometown of Goldsboro in 1939 and
received national attention for his coverage of the Irby Holmes murder trial in
North Carolina. He entered the Army Air Corps and hosted a daily radio show
for servicemen in New York City. In 1952, he hosted the first national
fundraiser to send American athletes to the 1952 Summer Olympics. Fine
condition.
