JOHNNY "JUMPIN' JOHNNY" WILSON
The famed Harlem Globetrotter and Negro League baseball player signs his name in black ink
Printed card signed in ink: ""Jumpin' Johnny" Wilson" in black ink. 5x3 printed card featuring a 1x1½ photo of the baseball player. "Jumpin' Johnny" Wilson (b. 1927) is a former American baseball and basketball player, who earned his nickname in high school for being the only team member to be able to dunk the basketball. After an impressive career at Anderson College, during which he earned eleven letters, was selected for All-conference three times, was team M.V.P. three times, was named All-American twice, and once finished third in the nation in scoring, Wilson played a year in the Negro Baseball League for the Chicago American Giants (1948) before leaving to play basketball for the Harlem Globetrotters (1949-1954). After finishing his bachelor's degree in education in 1970, Wilson turned to coaching at both the high school and college level. He was the subject of the book Jump Johnny Jump! and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Corners rounded. Slightly toned and soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
