JOHNNY MAESTRO & THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE
The eight-piece doo-wop/R&B/rock band from the 1970s and '80s sign their names in green felt tip
Signatures: "Best Wishes/Always/Brooklyn/Bridge/George" (George Gregory), "Johnny Maestro", "Steve" (Steve Goldberg), "Freddy" (Freddy Ferrara), "Jim" (Jim Rosica), "Les" (Les Cauchi), "Richie" (Richie Grando) and "Shelly" (Shelly Davis), 5¾x6¾. The pop group Brooklyn Bridge was led by Johnny Maestro, the former front man of the Crests. The group was formed on Long Island in 1968. The group issued their self-titled debut album in 1969, scoring their first Top Five hit with the Jimmy Webb composition "Worst that Could Happen". All except George, Steve and Richie were in the original 1968 group. All eight signers comprised the Brooklyn Bridge on their fourth album, released in 1972. The names of seven of the eight signers (all but Shelly Davis) have been printed near their signatures, likely by the collector. "Richie Macioce" (an original member) has been incorrectly penned by the collector next to the "Richie" signature. Glue remnants on verso show through. Nicked lower edge. Lightly creased. Slightly soiled.
