JOHNNY MATHIS - AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED 1978 - HFSID 27093
Price: $100.00
JOHNNY MATHIS
Mathis sends a note to George Sanders - a Portland radio/TV interview
host in 1978
Autograph Note signed: "For George/Luv-/Johnny Mathis/'78",
5¼x7¾. Magazine photo (b/w, 1½x1¾) affixed in lower right. After several hit
singles in the late 1950s, including "Wonderful, Wonderful", "It's Not For Me To
Say" and "Chances Are", Mathis (1935-2011), focused on albums
featuring his lush ballad style aimed at adult listeners. More than 60 of
Mathis' albums made the charts, with a dozen going gold or platinum. He had
another hit single, "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late," in 1978, and remained a
very popular concert draw. In 2005, Mathis moved in a new direction with his
Passion for Jesus. George Sanders, a radio disc jockey turned
radio/TV journalist and interview host, collected autographs from guests on his
shows. Jagged at left edge. Slightly creased at corners. Otherwise, fine
condition.
