Signed autograph note on a card with a magazine photo of him
attached
Autograph Note signed: "To Kayo/Always/the best/A Rascal/Johnny
Puleo", 4½x3 card. Magazine photo affixed at left
edge. Diminutive Johnny Puleo (1907-1983), the leader of a harmonica
band known variously as the Harmonica Rascals, Harmonica Gang and
Harmonicats, made a striking image on stage as he manhandled a huge bass
harmonica. He recorded a series of albums and appeared regularly on The Ed
Sullivan Show. In 1956, he portrayed Max the Dwarf in Burt Lancaster's
circus movie, Trapeze. Lightly toned. Ink impressions (unknown
hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
