JON PERTWEE
The British Doctor Who actor is shown resting his arms on his knees in this 3½x5½ black and white photograph.
Inscribed Photograph signed: "To J. Bowker good wishes/from Tom Pertwee" B/w, 3½x5½. Jon Pertwee (1916-1996), born John Devon Roland Pertwee, is an English actor who is probably best known as the third Doctor in the British science-fiction series Doctor Who, which he played from 1970 to 1974. He was thrown out of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1936, but still went on to act for 60 years in radio, cabaret and over 60 TV shows and films, as well as a role as Andrew in the Broadway production of There's a Girl in My Soup (1967-1968). His roles besides Doctor Who include the title character in the children's show Worzel Gummidge and as Spottyman in the British cartoon Superted. Lightly worn at top right corner. Slightly toned at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
