to subscribe to Stand a magazine I've edited 25 years/ Good wishes”. Jon Silkin (1930-1997)
was a British poet. He wrote a number of works on war poetry and poetry criticism. He
founded the literary magazine Stand in 1952 and then served as the editor of the
magazine until his death (taking a break from 1957 to 1960). After publishing his first
poetry collection, The Peaceable Kingdom, in 1954, he went on to publish many more
collections and anthologies. His studies of poetry centered on the notable poets of World
War I. One vertical and one horizontal fold. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
