B/w 8x10. Comedian and actor Jonathan Winters (1925-2013) began his career
on the radio, first as a disc jockey, until his comedic talents were revealed. He
made his television debut on the CBS daytime showThe Garry Moore Show,
where he introduced such imperishable characters as freewheeling senior
citizen Maudie Frickett and doltish Elwood P. Suggins. During the 1964-1965
season, Winters starred in a group of well-received specials, and was also a
frequent guest on The Tonight Show, The Jack Paar Program and The Andy
Williams Show. Winters later hosted his own programs, The Jonathan
Winters Show (1967-1969) and The Wacky World of Jonathan Winters
(1972-1974). He made his film debut in the all-star It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad
World (1963) and co-starred in films including The Russians are Coming, the
Russians are Coming (1966) and The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000).
Winters also maintained an interest in other art forms, including painting
and literature. His numerous artwork included silkscreens and sketches, which
he presented at special gallery showings. He also wrote a book of short stories
calledWinters' Tales(1988), which became a bestseller. The comedian received
a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Creased corners. Otherwise, fine
