and actor Jonathan Winters (1925-2013) began his career on television on
CBS' daytime The Garry Moore Show, where he introduced such
imperishable characters as freewheeling senior citizen Maudie Frickett and
doltish Elwood P. Suggins. During the 1964-1965 season, Winters starred in a
group of well-received specials, and was also a frequent guest on The Tonight
Show, The Jack Paar Program and The Andy Williams Show.
Winters later hosted his own programs, The Jonathan Winters Show
(1967-1969) and The Wacky World of Jonathan Winters
(1972-1974).Winters, who made his film debut in the all-star It's a
Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), has co-starred films including The
Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming(1966), The Shadow
(1994), The Flintstones (1994) and The Adventures of Rocky &
