JOSEPH WAMBAUGH
Author Joseph Wambaugh signed this document in 1990 to affirm that he hadn't received anything for appearing on The Today Show.
Document sigend "Jospeh Wambaugh". 1 page, 8½x11. May 1, 1990. Titled: "Statement Pursuant To Section 508 Of The/Communications Act Of 1934 - Guest". Wambaugh signed this to affirm that he hadn't received or made an agreement to receive anything of value for appearing on The Today Show. Wambaugh, born in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1937, had been with the Los Angeles Police Department for ten years before publishing his first novel, The New Centurions (1971). Credited with transforming the sub-genre of the police novel into serious literature, his books also include The Blue Knight (1972), The Onion Field (1973) and The Choirboys (1975), and his work on the Police Story television series in the 1970s set standards of realism, dialogue and character development for subsequent writers of police dramas. Lightly toned and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
