Hand Print signed: "Joe Barbera", 7½x10. Tracing of his left hand in black ink. After Joseph Barbera (1910-2001) and William Hanna (1911-2006) joined MGM in 1937, they produced more than 100 short films featuring their cat and mouse heroes, earning seven Academy Awards. Tom and Jerry also "starred" with Fred Astaire and Esther Williams in feature films. In 1957, the animators left MGM to begin their own production company, Hanna-Barbera, which introduced such classic television cartoon series as The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Scooby-Doo.
